Måns Petter Albert Zelmerlöw (born June 13, 1986 in Lund, Sweden) is a Swedish pop singer. He is probably best known for his 2007 song «Cara Mia,» which was his entry into that year’s Melodifestivalen.

Idol, Melodifestivalen 2007 & Debut Album

In 2005 Måns took part in the Swedish version of Idol coming an overall 5th when he was eliminated on November 11 after 8 weeks on the show. Måns was placed in bottom 3 twice and the bottom 2 once due to which he was eliminated.
In 2006 he took part in Let’s Dance, where with dance partner Maria Karlsson, he triumphed and took 1st place. As well as appearing as Danny in the Swedish version of musical Grease, Måns signed a record deal with M&L Records, a division of Warner Music Sweden to release an album. In November 2006 in was announced that Måns would compete in Melodifestivalen 2007, Sweden’s competition to determine their Eurovision entry for the corresponding year. Måns competed with the song «Cara Mia» in the 3rd semi-final on February 17, 2007 in Örnsköldsvik where he progressed to the final in Stockholm. In the March 10 final at Globen, «Cara Mia» finished in third place behind winners The Ark and runner-up Andreas Johnson. «Cara Mia» was released as a single and Måns’ debut album Stand By For… followed shortly after. The album performed very well, reaching number 1 in Sweden and being certified platinum by IFPI. The album produced four singles, all reaching the top 50 in Sweden. Stand By For… has been released in Poland in the september 2007. In 2007 Måns also starred in the musical version of Footloose.

Melodifestivalen 2009 & MZW

In 2008 Måns went back to the studio to write for his second solo album MZW.

On November 18, 2008 it was announced that Måns would once again compete in Melodifestivalen, this time with the song «Hope & Glory». The 2009 edition of Melodifestivalen featured many former Melodifestivalen entrants including Sarah Dawn Finer, Sofia, BWO, and Amy Diamond. Måns took part in semi-final 2 on February 14, 2009 where he once again progressed to the final at Globen. At the final on March 14, «Hope & Glory» won 4th place despite receiving the most votes from the Jury. In late March, 2009 Måns released his second album MZW which has so far been certified gold by the IFPI and has reached number 1 on the Swedish album charts, the album has also been released in Poland. In 2009 Måns played a summer tour of Sweden performing songs from both albums.
