Tino Coury is an Singer-Songwriter and Producer. His debut single «Diary» is featured in the game Tap Tap Revenge 3. His second single «Up Against The Wall» expected to be released to radio February 2011.

Tino Coury was very passionate about music early on though it was clear sports was priority. Tino was planning to pursue his higher education on a football scholarship until he suffered a devastating injury during a football game his senior year in high school playing for the Chartiers Valley Colts. The injury was serious enough that he knew he wasn’t going to have a future in sports. He then turned prioritized music in his life. He had taught himself to play guitar, then continued learning the piano, bass, and drums until he was writing his own songs. «When I was in eighth grade or so, I loved Blink-182 and Green Day,» he recalls. «I was into hip-hop and pop too, but those punk-rock tunes were so amazing. I got the guitar tabs and starting learning to play the songs, which were simple but incredibly catchy. Blink really influenced my songwriting.» He now uses the discipline, practice, and commitment that he used on the playing field and transferred all of that to his music.[1] Tino is the son of Robert J. Coury, Executive Chairman and former CEO of Mylan Labs

Since the May 2010 release of his single “Diary”—which peaked at #38 on the US Top 40 Chart, and that also reached #11 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club chart—Tino Coury has been “blowing up the pop scene,” noted Usmagazine.com.[3]

The singer-songwriter-producer—the first artist signed to indie label Eleventh Records, distributed through Universal’s Fontana—has been earning fans all over the country by performing on national TV and at shows with Jason Derulo (at the sold-out The Fillmore New York at Irving Plaza), Drake, Train, Iyaz, New Boyz, Mike Posner, Kelly Rowland, Cartel, Kris Allen, and the Backstreet Boys, among others. The 22-year-old Pittsburgh-bred, Los Angeles-based artist—who is becoming known for his urgent vocals and flair for sparkling hooks as well as his substantial production chops—plans to release a full-length album in 2011.

The buzz surrounding Coury began in May when “Diary” landed on over 50 Top 40 and Rhythmic stations in its first week of release, an achievement unrivaled in recent history by any new artist. Then came Coury’s striking debut video for “Diary.” Directed by Roman White who has created videos for the biggest names in music today such as Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson and Justin Bieber, it logged over a million views on YouTube (as of August). www.youtube.com/tinocoury#p/f/2/S83xZjjgu4c

For multi-instrumentalist Tino, it all starts with the music. “When I write a song,” he says, “I want a beat you can dance to, a great track–but also a story. There has to be a heart to it.” Billboard magazine, in a review of “Diary,” took note of Coury’s mix of musicality and story-based lyrics: “Despite its themes of betrayal, dissatisfaction and letdown for its lead singer, the song’s sticking point is an irresistibly buoyant beat that should keep listeners tuned in and dancing” (6/19/10).

Coury is becoming a force in pop music just as he was as an athlete in high school.

It wasn’t until he suffered his sports injury that he decided to put a hold on finishing college and pursue his true destiny. Since then, he has devoted himself to music with the same fervor, drive and commitment he once did to sports. “I see myself as a performer,” says Coury, “someone like Justin Timberlake,” who in fact gets a playful shout-out in “Diary.” “I went to his Future Sex/LoveSounds tour and it was just amazing.”

And while he’s now focused on his own music, Coury one day hopes to produce, write and develop other artists. «But for today, I want to stay focused on driving my own transformation as an artist. I’ve performed in front of large crowds as an athlete, and now I’m enjoying performing across the country—the crowds have been great. I want to give people that same rush I feel when I’m watching my favorite artists.”

He also on Friday February 25, 2011 performed at Norwood Middle School, and on Monday February 28 at Richfield High School thanks to Norwoods strings teacher Ms. Craig and Richfield’s Choir Teacher Ms. Jefferson. He performed at Bethel Park High school on March 14, 2011.

Note: Although Diary is acclaimed as his debut single, the artist actually had songs prior to its release, which have been removed for undisclosed reasons from the internet.
